Hi John, i just wanted to say a big public thanks for the very nice article about my glassware. You have been a big booster for me and this site has helped me to spread the word about the availability of Fenton glass that is done privately. I promise to send any updates to you FIRST so that your loyal followers will know first hand what my next piece is going to be. I have listed the pieces on your classified section for the ease of your "FANATICS" ;0). Sincerely, Eric Weber

Hello,
I have been collecting Fenton for approx. 7 months and today I topped 100 pieces. I have 6 Mary Gregory pieces and have a question regarding this style. In my Fenton book (1990 decade), it states that this styles profiles children painted with white enamel. How do the SWANS painted with white enamel fall into this category with Fenton? I have a ruby bell with white roses painted on all four sides. Does this make it Mary Gregory style? Thanks for your help.

If you have a problem with an eBay seller, write to me personally and I will see what I can do. I can't guarantee results, but I'm willing to try and help. Thanks for understanding!

John, you do a wonderful job on this page. I really enjoy looking at the
"catalogs" and appreciate you putting them there. My first love in Fenton is
the bridesmaid dolls and I am always looking for the unusual one if anyone has
them for sale. I really like the slag ones and would love to find an affordable
favrene or black doll. They are all so different. I have also been building
up a nice little collection of the heart shaped nappys and relishs. They go
well with the bridesmaids. My daughter loves the bridesmaids and also has a
nice collection of the animals. The sculptured Rose Quartz 9" Lady Vase from
1983 got me started enjoying some of the Connoisseur Collection pieces and I
have been able to add a few more pieces along those lines. I guess you could
say we just love Fenton and thanks John for doing a great job for us Fenton

I have a white hobnail fairy light with holly trail decoration (1976) signed B. I have been collecting Fenton for over 42 years. I have close to 2,000 pieces of every color, shape, and size. I am partial to baskets, I guess. I have way over 100 of them. I started out with buying one shoe and one aqua crest basket back in l959 and I was hooked. Then I got married and my husbanc drove over the road for a while and every city he would go to he would bring me back a shoe or two. Then everyone started buying me different pieces for gifts and bingo, that started my collection. Right now I am collecting the pastel milk glasses of the early l950's. I am looking for a 4 1/2" blue pastel and green pastel hobnail basket. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has one for sale. Love that Fenton.

Great site.. You might add a section on buying reference books. New people can find a wealth of information in any of the several books available on Fenton Glass. They could also learn a lot by browsing the auctions looking under Fenton. There is so much information out there if only they would take the time to research it. Of course, knowledge will lessen the change that they will get stung on a piece that really isn't Fenton. Not all vases with "bumps" (hobnail) is Fenton!

CAN ANYONE HELP ME??????? This website is the best!!!!! I can't believe all the people who sign your guestbook! I personally have you bookmarked as "The Fenton Man". I am a relatively new collector, only about 34 pieces, but I love every one of them! I do need some help however, recently I bought alot of stuff at a local Hallmark store (half off, can you believe it!), and 2 of my purchases I have not been able to identify, one is a rectangular box, about 4 or 5 inches long, and the pattern on it is like a quilt looking pattern, like a button in a couch, and the color is like Empress Rose, but irridecent, the ware # is 5589 CV. The second is a fairy light, very simple, light pink colored (Champagne?), and has a beaded pattern in stripes down the sides, the ware # for this one is 9404 PY. CAN ANYONE HELP ME??????? Thanks, and John, you are wonderful!!

Great Site! Found this by looking for a list of artists. Have a question though, and am not savvy enough to post in the chat room. Artists list states signatures were either full name or first initial and last name. I have a satin custard vase that is signed first name, last initial and am looking at a piece that is signed in same manner. Is this legit?

I just read the article on the message board on selling glass on eBay. I am so sorry to see these glass collectors be such cut throat operators. I have seen some of these people buying glass as seconds and then selling them at ourageous price to so called collectors, who are so new to collecting that they think they are getting a great steal, or bargin. Wake up and smell the roses Money is the most important thing to these so called sellers. The best way to stop them from skinming people is simply don't buy from them. I go to the gift shop quite often and could buy seconds and then sell at a high profit. If you are a true friend to these collectors please don't make a profit on these inocent people. You dealers know who you are. You are only in it for the money. I agree with Deb.Buy first quality .. When is enough, Enough? ?Buy first quality and you should know from the dealer if it is a second. Don't mislead the wonderful people who collect Fenton Glass. The love of money is the root of evil. Making small profit is the right thing to do!!Thanks for letting me have my say.

Probably the reason that the Topaz doll hasn't shown up yet is because I believe it was scheduled for the February show. Since the next show is actually not until March, I would look for it then.

Recently got an order from the Fenton catalog, was surprised that the Fenton mark on the bottom of the tulip vase did not have a clear impression of the logo. Did I receive a "second" When I was at the Fenton Gift Shop late in August this year I bought several seconds. I just thought that in ordering and paying the catalog prices that everything was 1st quality? Any thoughts on this?

Hi Everyone
Don't remember how many years we have been collecting Fenton. My mother-in-law was the one who got us started she is now gone and part of her collection has become ours. I just kept thinking why would anyone want to dust all that glass but after several hundred pieces later now the dust doesn't seem to bother me.
Steve (my husband), Nick (my son 15) and I collect a lot of different things. My first love is burmese and Steve's is Topaz. Nick is into the dolphin handle pieces and mallards and has a large collection of mallards. The animals are also a lot of fun to collect. We also have 2 daughters that have their special wants.
We attend the conventions each year and have a wonderful time. We have meet some of the most wonderful people and have made some of the most wonderful friends from collecting Fenton. My parents keep asking why and I say the friendship and the fun and a good investment for the future.
Hope to meet some of you at the convention this year and
Happy Hunting!

I am so glad that you have this website! I have nearly 70 pieces of Fenton in my collection. It really saddens me when I watch the QVC Fenton show and I can't buy everything I see, especially those beautiful works of art that are over $200. My entire collection is mostly from QVC, while a few are from Hallmark stores and Ebay. It's a collection that I hold dear to my heart! I have collected white hobnail milkglass for many years. There
are several pieces of need for my collection, mostly from the sample or one of
a kind section in Shirley Griffith's Pictorial Review of Fenton White Hobnail
Milkglass Book. There are just a few other pieces that I need, also. Have
really enjoyed collecting over the years but it is getting harder and harder to
find pieces that I don't already have!!
