Designer Bells - Another annual tradition that delights the bell collector is Fenton's Designer Bell series. The 4 bells for 2000 are the Victorian Stripes designed by Martha Reynolds (6864 UL), Water Lilies (7568 YB) designed by Robin Spindler, Dolphin Frolic (7667 TW) designed by Kim Plauché, and the Lush Garden (7768 WY) designed by Frances Burton. Although I'm not a bell collector, I particularly liked the one done by Martha Reynolds shown on the left, it looks lovely.

Other 2000 Offerings - Some of the new catalog offerings we were introduced to from the early Spring 2000 supplement that came out a couple months ago, like the Lavender Lady & Violet, Lavender Petals, and the Simple Pleasures line. Other new glass or decorations include Butterfly Garden on Cobalt and Gold Carnival, with Fenton's description "Butterflies floating through a deep blue sky are united to form the illusion of spring petals. Each collage is surrounded by raised dots and bands to create a French Country design by Robin Spindler." Another new offering is Daisy on Empress Rose Satin. Fenton was offering Empress Rose the last couple of years, but this is a new satin treatment and I think it's very nice. Romantic Roses is a new decoration on Champagne Opalescent and is a great design. Repeats from last year but usually with new items include Cobalt, Tranquility, Spruce Green Carnival, Handpainted Trellis, Aquamarine, Cranberry (although with different designs), and Rose Garden. Many of the new pieces introduced in the line include many items made from the moulds purchased at the L.G. Wright auction last May. As usual, Fenton seems to offer something for every type of collector and this year was no exception. I'm sure I will be spending my hard earned money on new Fenton :)

Lotus Mist - Although I covered most of the new Lotus Mist Burmese in the last What's New?, there were a couple of pictures I didn't have yet, along with a full page scan of Fenton's new Burmese. One of the new items Fenton will introduce as a Showcase Dealer exclusive is the 2985 VF 8" cruet inscribed with George Fenton's signature. The Glass Messenger exclusive for this year, is the F6831 ZM 9-1/2" basket with Tom Fenton's signature.
