For historical comparison purposes, I have an Anchor Hocking / Wrisley perfume bottle with the original box and accessories. The bottle came with a small cylindrical mist purser (atomizer) with a gold fleur-de-lis design and a small pink plastic funnel to aid in filling it with perfume.

The purser cardboard holder tells the buyer to "Enjoy the entire line of Hobnail bath products; soap, bubble bath, cologne, and bath oil". The fragrances listed are Lily of the Valley, Antique Spice, and Moss Blue. The pictures in the enclosed brochure do not show these other products in hobnail containers. Evidently Anchor Hocking never had moulds tooled to copy the other hobnail bath products that were produced for Wrisley by Fenton.

Putting together a collection of these Fenton hobnail vanity pieces can be quite challenging, but not impossible. Internet auctions have opened the inventories of millions of sellers to collectors. Our collection would be very limited if not for this resource and I am certain that the same can be said for other collectors as well.

Anyone who has additional information or pictures concerning this article is welcome to forward this to me for inclusion in an updated version as needed. My e-mail address follows at the end of this article. I will also be writing another article soon about Fenton's production of other opalescent perfumes for Wrisley as well as the DeVilbiss Perfume Company during the 1940s.

Editors Notes: Michael and Lori Palmer can be reached via eMail at: mlpalmer@flash.net . I wish to thank them both for a very well written article, some great pictures, and their dedication to the Fenton collector. Following on the next page is the acknowledgments used in the article, along with other pictures that could not be used in the article itself due to page layout constraints.
